Yellow-billed Cuckoo

Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo is a bird of concern to many partners.  Research into movements and habitat needs are providing insights into this enigmatic species.  At the Ventura meeting, John Stanek provided a great summary of the shrinking range of the species, and some intriguing implications of managing for early successional cottonwood/willow mixes -- an apparent magnet for this species, and different from the characteristic gallery cottonwood that has traditionally been the management goal for this species.
