Long-billed Curlew

Long-billed curlew is a large,
striking, charismatic shorebird that breeds in western grasslands.  Declining trends in many parts of its range highlight the plight of grasslands and grassland birds generally.  Research and monitoring projects, past and ongoing, aim to find out more about LBCU status, movements, and to develop conservation goals and strategies.

Dan Casey (Northern Great Plains JV Coordinator, ABC) has developed several outreach products for landowners, managers, and conservationists, available for download below.

Also, follow the birds marked with satellite transmitters by Jay Carlisle of the Intermountain Bird Observatory.
